hello(:

currently feeling a little tired
because i talked to someone overnight on the phone last night(:
but seriously,
thanks for listening,
thanks for understanding,
thanks for everything you said
thanks for knowing me and believing in who i am
"you're someone who won't commit to things that you don't believe in"
it's especially comforting , in times like this(:

and thanks to the encouraging tags on my tagboard(:
except for the "emo" tag-tsk i never even emo lah haha XD

true friends
should draw a line between whats friendship and work
should learn how to discern between friendship and work
(:

that's what i believe in (:

on a lighter note,
yesterday's volunteering session went
GREAT(:

that's why i love volunteering with kids
their innocence and sincerity
never fails to touch me(:
small things they do or simply just watching them
make me happy(:

and OHH they call me
PRINCESS LYON lehhh(:

so sweet right :D

hello(:

nowadays,
life seems to be like a roller coaster for me
sometimes, something can happen that will make me
damn happy
and yet in that same day,
another thing will happen and throw me back into the dumps
frankly speaking,
its a very horrid feeling
but i do know that amidst all the negativity
there's always a good side to it(:
it's just whether i choose to see it.

i'm still fighting for chances,
mind you,
its CHANCES
nothing else.
there's nothing wrong with pushing for chances
coz if you don't give a chance,
how will you ever know?

it's really demoralizing when i hear of people
rejecting the idea of even giving chances
like wth, what's wrong with even giving one chance?
you never know how it might change your whole life.

but oh well,
perhaps even i'm guilty of not giving chances in the first place
nevertheless,
i'll learn to give more chances from now on(:
once again, its chances for good things.

recently, i wake up in the morning
feeling very sian of everything,
even feeling like i don't want to get out of bed
but i realised it's a form of avoidance
escapism because what i'm dealing with every day
is outside of my comfort zone
it's something that is so mentally challenging
that frankly speaking, it does wear me out at times
but then, i'll think of the things in my comfort zone
such as the friendship, the motivational talks,
how my uplines and downline always motivate me(:
it's really encouraging
as i get to know them better and better
and appreciate them for who they are(:

i'll give it my best shot this week(:
so regardless of whether i hit my goal,
i'll still be happy(:

and yeah,
if you haven't hit your goal,
why give up?

hello(:

i see it.
i see my inspirational cycle theory in my job.
i see the beauty in what i'm doing already.(=
and i'm determined to make others see it too.

one very very very
important takeaway is
THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING A CHANCE(:

it's just one chance
but its something that could make a difference.

skepticism is unavoidable
but only matured individuals
would realize that being skeptical
judging even before giving it a chance
is shallow.

everything deserves a chance to be explained.
we should learn to give chances more in life.
sometimes, we might say we don't give chances
because we had past experiences already
but it's an invalid excuse because as already mentioned,
what's past is past
and what's present is present.
comparison is unfair and unjust.

giving chances doesn't equate to committment
it doesn't equate to decision
because different people have different views and opinions
about what is good for them
so ultimately, mutual respect between human beings will be emphasized.
or at least, thats the way sensible people would think and understand.

i believe that in life,
we must be matured and distinguish well
between personal relationships and reality.

thats something i admire.(:

i'll push for chances
fight for chances
because chances can represent hope(:
of course it can represent negative hope in the end
but at least it was a hope.(=
nevertheless, it must be for a good cause lah.
obviously, you don't give certain things like smoking a chance right? haha
thats where wise discretion comes in.

i think i'm slowly gaining the confidence to be a social worker.(=

11:43 AM
hello!(:

finally- i'm blogging again!

i've officially been working full time for one week.
there were so many ups and downs,
to be frank, this week was one of the most stressful week in my life
i practically spent all my time
fretting over appointments, deadlines
and most importantly, my moral obligation and desire to help my team,
to help renuka, mr keith etc
there were so many times of negativity and rejection
in fact, i think i grew up so much in this week
where i struggled to find balance in my work, my principles
and everything and everyone around me.
there were so many times whereby i felt so frustrated
why couldn't i be luckier? i just need that bit, that little bit more
to achieve what i wanted
but i know going that extent would be betraying my own principles
my direction in this job
and i won't allow myself to do that
i'm going to set an example for all the people in my life
the people i'm going to help in future
so in order for that,
i must always practice what i preach,
which is to stick by my moral principles and live my life.(:
not to get blinded by negative desires.
but it's hard, freaking hard
sometimes, i really would wish so much to myself that
someone would create a miracle for me.
but of course, it's harder than it sounds.
especially when so many people seem to be not in approval of me being in this job
but i'm not going to give up.

this is not just a job to me,
it's not just about benefitting other people's health
it's not just about the experience i will gain
it's not just about all the wonderful people and friends i met
it's not just about the message of not taking your health for granted,
it's not just about really helping my team
it's a moral commitment to myself
it's a promise i made to myself
it's about my dream as a social worker.

if i can succeed in this job,
despite all the odds and difficulty i faced
if i can always pick myself up after countless falls
and move on stronger than ever,
i can show people around me,
especially my parents,
that i have the perseverance
i have what it takes to survive as a social worker in future.
i know many people, including my parents
and even myself at times
doubt my capability to be a social worker in future
my mental strength to cope with the stress and emotional burden
doubt my will to carry on as a social worker for the rest of my life
because passion is different from reality
you can be very passionate about something
but you can't be sure whether passion can sustain you in reality
so i want to prove to everyone
and most importantly,
prove to myself that
i have what it takes to carry on
no matter how hard it is
i will persevere on and keep on trying , keeping the faith and believeing.

and i know that
the day i succeed for this job,
i can confidently tell myself and the people around me that
i definitely have what it takes to be a social worker.
i definitely can live out my dream
i will not doubt myself again(:

and for that goal,
for that dream,
even though i really feel like crying every now and then
i will hang on.

so i really also want to thank those of you
who encouraged me
who expressed your support(:
and i really hope that to whoever who's reading my blog now
if you know of anyone, family, friends or relatives who has health problems
be it minor , like backaches or insomnia
or major, like high blood pressure or diabetes
, let me know okay(:
just give me a chance to share with them what i think can help them
ultimately, its their choice
but practically, there's always no harm finding out stuff that's related to our health
because in life, health is very very very important.

and also, to everyone who's reading my blog
if you're experiencing a rough patch in life
and feel really down and sad,
don't give up okay!
it's alright to feel sad and negative once in a while
because we're human
but what's most important
is our heart and will
to dare to try again
because there's always something to be positive about in life(:

no one knows what will happen in future.
what makes you think you can't pull through this?
what makes you so sure you will fail?
just because of previous experience?
it's not valid because things change and miracles happen(:
just keep believeing
and im sure you will ultimately achieve what you want.

smile(:

12:49 AM
hello(:

today was my first appointment.

unfortunately, i failed.

but frankly speaking, although undeniably,
i do feel somewhat affected by it,
it's nothing serious(: and i know by the time i wake up tmr,
i probably won't feel anything anymore(:

but so, it's important for me to pen down my thoughts now
when i still have feelings (:

i did my best(:
i did all i could to convince them,
i told them everything i felt, everything i knew ,
sincerely from the heart(:
it was a good "battle" in the sense that at least i lost after putting up the best fight ever(:

actually, i'm quite glad i failed(:
because after failing the first appointment,
i already dropped to the lowest that i can be
so from now on, since im going to be working hard
things are just going to start looking better for me(:

but i'm glad i have my own view of this industry(:
and so, i have already convinced myself.

but what renuka says make sense,
its life- you can only manage to convince some, you can't convince all.

similarly, in social work,
i must accept the fact that i can't successfully help EVERYONE i want to meet
because some things are really beyond my control
but for the people who i will manage to benefit and help
i will
PERSEVERE(:

interesting point to note is that
next time during my social work days,
i can use this rejection as an example to show how i failed haha(:
but of course, i will succeed in future(:

anyway, must really thank mr keith(:
because my relatives were frankly very difficult to deal with
but he persevered, he hung on and this gave me the confidence and the determination
to persevere too(:
even though he was tired and everything, he still did his best(:
and his words were comforting(: sincere words from the heart.(:

although i treat this work as a form of social work
to be practical
im quite of sad about not being able to help renuka and mr keith =/
but but but
i know that as long as i keep trying,
theres still a chance(:

so yupp(:

i will work hard and DO my best(:

it's going to make me a stronger person
who can help more people(:

thats smth im looking forward to(:
smile(:

2:51 AM
hello(;

feel kind of enlightened about some stuff (:

i think i understand what mr haryanto told me today(:

he told me something very simple,
it's a logic that probably has been repeated many times to me
but somehow, it had a large impact on me tonight:

it doesn't matter what others think, it's what you think that matters.

life is a journey
and it's special to each and everyone
because they , with their own background, thoughts, environment and beliefs,
are the ones living it(:

it's natural for views to clash
because of so many different factors
its natural to get exposed to views of different kind
but its important to note that
you must stay firm to what you believe
and what you choose to believe(:
other's opinions are just a reference
for you to think about it and reconcile it with your own opinion

in fact, education also teaches us to
have our own view(:
not to be swayed by others and make decisions
based on ourselves(:

follow your heart.

thats something i strongly believe in.(:

we can always ask millions of " what if ....? "
before we do things
but what's the point of asking that?
i mean, if u never try, you will never know.

that's life , isn't it?(:
you follow your heart, live it the way you want , the way you would
and even if u make mistakes along the way
repent , learn and start all over again(:
sometimes, only you can help yourself
because you have responsibility over your life
you screw up, you pay for it
its a very simple logic(:

its good to plan ahead
and try to prevent the negative stuff from happening
but at the same time,
we must realise that
it's the negative stuff
that helps us grow
makes us stronger(:
as quoted by someone xD
who mentioned something about needing some resonance of negativity
instead of an overwhelming dosage of positivity to heal. HEHE(:

i admit there are people with greedy thoughts
working against their moral ethics
profit -driven incorrigible creatures
but why? why must we make such a fuss over them
when there are good people too?
just because we focus on scolding all these people,
we overlook the presence of good people
we stereotype people, unwilling to give our trust again
which is something i cannot stand, because it's common sense that
the balance in this world commands a good and bad side for everything
so why be naive and restrict ourselves more to the bad side?

ultimately, the choice lies with us.
we believe what we choose to believe
we fight for what we choose to fight for
we reject what we choose to be not beneficial to us
we take heed of the advice we choose to listen to
we must have our own moral principles and set of beliefs(:
and live our life by that
everyone will be happier(:

so yup

its YOU that matters
your own opinion
because
you're living for YOURSELF(:

even if u want to help others,
you need to have the means to do so
by first helping urself(:

hello!(:

i haven't blogged for awhile!:D

wasn't initially planning to blog
until i realised i haven't blogged about my 2010 goals
as well as after i read some touching emails i received in 2009(:
i suddenly have this urge to do something for all the people
i appreciate and care and treasure in my life! haha

okayy. let's start with my 2010 goals:
1. prepare myself to be a social worker:

-must be financially prudent
-volunteer more and thus get exposed to reality more often
- overcome my fear of the darker stuff
- be more filial and do more for my family so they won't object to me being a social worker
- learn important skills such as presentation skills, ways to express myself better
so i can inspire others better(:
- widen my social circle and hence, get exposed to people from all walks of life
and hopefully, get to help more people!

2. appreciate- treasure the importance of this word more

- appreciate my family
- appreciate everyone in my life
and most importantly, show my appreciation whenever i can(=
and to appreciate people, i must first trust(=

3.live for myself

- learn to be more firm
- learn to reject ,learn to get used to rejection
- learn to fight more firmly for what i want
- open up more negative sides of me to people( sounds weird eh =x)

4. have more confidence and perseverance and self-discipline and not be so LAZY and UNDECISIVE haha(:

- always keep in mind who i am

and lead my life as who i am (=

well, i really just want to thank you all
for everything(=
although we might not be able to meet often as we go our separate ways
i'm very willing to believe in the power of friendship
absence makes the heart grow fonder(:

these few days have been really great!(=
i've achieved all my goals-
1. get a job
2. get volunteering opportunities
3.sign up for driving

(: and now i need to
work hard for my job
( it's sort of a part-time job btw- shall elaborate in another post :D )
really go for the volunteering opportunities
and of course, pass all the tests and get my driving license

and i'm meeting really nice people nowadays
and i'm SO looking forward to tmr!!!(:

have this feeling its going to be a

GREAT DAY(:

:D

smile people!(:

helloo(:

just returned from band concert.
i went with huikee and overall, it was good(=
except from the fact that i was still quite tired
from 6C12 new year stayover at agnes's house- get the details from jolai's blog(=
lazy to blog about it muahaha:D
but it was fun(= it's nice to see the class again
and see them laughing and playing,
( i like to observe the class (: it's weird but it's fun(:)
in fact, it does seem like we're in taiwan again ahha(=
although everyone 's going to be busy with their own stuff,
i have full confidence that we will all try our best to make it for future class outings
oh and because of the people in our class, i'm sure there'll be class outings regularly(=

OH and thank you jason and dorothy for the photo(:,
grace, jolenelai and andrew for your notes(:
and andrew and hongyi for that present- it's the first time i received such a medal(=
and i was really surprised but damn happy and honoured(:
i'll definitely put it somewhere that i can see it every day
and use it as my motivation to become someone with a bigger heart(:

anyway, i realised i haven't blogged a proper post for 2010(:
a reflective post- about 2009 and the transition into 2010(:

i shall blog about it tonight
to mark the end of my " play" week =/

this week has really been one of the most tiring weeks of my life
but yet one of the BEST weeks of my life(:
finally, i feel the joy of post Alevels! (:
i managed to spend time with people whom i treasure alot(=
sun-YLF
mon-hk n jasmine
tues-hk,rachel,elaine,SEW-hidayat,meiyan,sylvanus,WT-hamizah,geraldine
wed-pat,sp,hk,mx,virg , mongo-chinyi,grace,dorothy,keith,vincent,weijie,mervyn,guoxiang,
thurs-renuka, YLF
fri-YLF, family
sat- 6C12
sun- hk
(:

although there's still some people whom i haven't met up with,
i'm really contented with the past week(:
except the fact that i ate alot, played alot
and spent alot =/
must really exercise self-discipline from tmr onwards(=

2009-

it was such a busy year. it passed so fast that i can't even believe it's actually over.
it had to be one of the most challenging year in my life- especially since there seemed to be almost no time to rest, here're some important events this year(=

CSC service learning symposium:
this was significant because it was the final project for me in CSC (: lucky i had Li Hui and the rest of my club to help me with it(: i was really happy with the way things turned out
and those feedback forms really brightened up my day- since the feedback was so positive(=
and of course, it was my last time really working on something as CSC chairperson
i know i talked alot about my chairperson journey, so shan't repeat the same stuff here

but without CSC, these two years would have been so different(: in fact, my whole senior high life would be changed rather drastically because i learned so much as CSC chairperson.
the greatest takeaway would be the importance of believing and perseverance
these were the two qualities that kept me going on as chairperson
even when things seemed so bleak- and i realised that as long as you hang on to this 2 beliefs,
things will work out somehow(: oh and i realised that CSC had quite an impact on my reputation
-.- but luckily in a good way(:

Dance- SYF and concert(:
in a way, they were significant because they were going to be the last time=/
i don't really think i'll dance again for SYF or any concert , unless it's really inevitable
but anyway, i also learnt alot throughout the process.time management, the importance of trust
and believing in team spirit(= i'm so glad things turned out well(:
oh and it was the first time i managed to get so many people to go for dance concert
and even up til now, i still greatly appreciate everyone's support(:

Alevels:

now that it's over, i also don't know what to say
perhaps it's because i feel really numb about it-
i mean, what's done cannot be undone and in fact, looking back on it
would only make me more insecure =/
i'm not sure if it was my 100% but i'm sure i gave it all i got(=
no doubt, i slacked alot of times during the preparation
but at least i knew i persevered and i got to know so many nice people
whose support were also my motivation(:
i appreciated life more(:
and i just hope my road to becoming a social worker
would be a smooth one(:

so basically, this were the three significant events in my life this year(:
and significant people who made such a difference in this year
people whom i had just got to know
people whom i helped or helped me in some ways
no doubt there were so many other incidents
and i'm so thankful for all the support i received this year(:
it really brightened up my life :D

i shall make it a point
to read all my posts in 2009(:

well, about my new year resolutions,
frankly speaking, i haven't really thought hard about it
but i will, soon(:
although i have somewhat an idea of what they would be(:
anyway,

recently, i have received the same advice that
i shouldn't keep chiding myself for being negative
and instead, just accept myself for my negativity
and hence, there's a need to really think about this
because the people who told me this really meant it for my own good(:

well, i've always had very high expectations of myself morally
and i try to practise what i preach
so as to convince others about what i advise them to do
such as think positive and smile(:
that's why i hate it when i get negative

but i do acknowledge times like that
and wait for myself to heal (:
but yea i admit sometimes i do keep all the negativity within me
and just swallow it up- i guess it's something i'm really used to doing.
but i'll try , bit by bit, to open up more(:
so as to get others to open up to me , more , too(:

meanwhile, i'm going to get some sleep(:

smile(:

10:26 AM
helloo!(:

finally, i 'm blogging again!(:

this is my FIRST post in 2010 :D
i wanted to blog yesterday but was really too tired to do so haha(:

the start of 2010
was one of the best starts ever
to a year(:

well, before i elaborate, i'll update about the past few days(:

wednesday:

went cycling with hk,sp,virg,mx and pat at ECP(:
and before that, in order to save one bus fare trip ,
i actually walked 1 hr from marine parade to around bedok jetty
horrible experience because my foot was hurting like crazy :(
plus, i cycled for 3 hours afterwards leh- super duper tired:(
haha but it was really fun!(: we saw aeroplanes!! (: haha
although this outing was kind of a last minute one for me,
but i'm really very glad i joined (: (: (:

afterwards, i went for mongo outing(:
at first, i was really so tired that i wanted to just go home and sleep
and not travel all the way to yew tee
BUT in order to make miracles happen( cy said if i go, it would be a miracle :D )
i decided to go for it(: haha
but the whole journey was torturing, i was so hoping that there would be empty seats
but nooo, there were NONE :(

anyway, i met up with guoxiang
and we went to find vincent before he led us both to chinyi's house(:
her house is like WOAH(: damn nice lah!
and it has the perfect balcony- for stargazing!
sadd that there were no stars that night><

we watched yes-man and played some xbox( which i really CMI)
and ate al0t of chips( green chips! :D )
and tried to play with chinyi's dog- so cute!(:
also, had a very nice talk with keith which i appreciated very much
plus a nice advice talk with vincent which i appreciated very much too
so thank you to the both of you(:
we went for dinner at night and it was really quite fun(:
we met this weird uncle ronnie though haha xD
but all in all, although i'm guilty of not turning up for many mongo outings
i'm so happy that i went for this outing despite my tired-ness (:
because i really enjoyed myself with everyone alot(:
i promise i'll go for more in the future! haha(:

thursday:

got myself into quite a complicated mess regarding a marketing job
=/
sigh. although i already made up my decision on how to deal with it
i still feel bad towards her and would just want to apologise to her again
still, the good thing that came out for it would be that
i had a nice talk with renuka(:
haha so yup i'll just go and see see on monday
anyway, i'm determined to get a job by the end of next week haha(:
so i shall keep all options open- except for office jobs HAHA

afterthat, met up with YLF
for our countdown!(:

well, we were supposed to meet at orchard at 5pm
but apparently most of us was late
and when i reached there, i only saw waikit ahha(:
but wah i haven't talked to him in ages(:
ahha and soon all the other people came
and we proceeded to far east plaza, the bubble tea shop
we went back to fetch jinghuan and we went to be the "testers" for cologne
haha(: cool experience though!
we went to eat dinner whereby we crapped alot
and oh yea- i was niao-ed so many times TSKK
but i managed to retaliate quite a bit(:
so after dinner, we headed to py's house!

on the journey, we talked, laughed and crapped
well , it's hard to really explain or describe
but the feeling's just so magically wonderful(:
because i feel super duper comfortable with them(:

as we were walking towards py's house
we were talking about the end of the year
and the start of the new year
and alvin reminded me of the countdown to 2008
2 years ago where we joined in the countdown at town area
and it was so freaking crowded , even to the extent that he had to walk behind me and guide me through the crowd ><
and everything was so chaotic, even though we managed to catch the fireworks in the end(:
it was such a contrast to last night's countdown ahha(:

which suddenly made me realise that
ever since i knew YLF
i have been spending the start of the new year with them(:

for the end of 2007,
as a group, we met up and wanted to go for YV countdown
but in the end , we didn't join them lah
but we did spent the last night of 2007 together(:
in fact, we even met up on the first day of 2008
to settle some stuff i rmb
but yea(:

and a year from that,
we spent the first day of 2009 together
whereby we had our birthday celebrations for everyone(:
it was one of my best memories of YLF (:
such that i even created a video about it haha(:

and a year from that,
which is now(: we spent the last night of 2009
and the first day of 2010
together(:

<333

anyway, back to my story
haha when we reached py's house
we played majong
and the memory card game
which was damn good and funny(:
we saw all the " scheming" sides of each other
and i laughed ALOT(:
in fact, even when we were sort of counting down,
it was halfway through the game(:
i can't really describe it in detail but i'll be sure to look back on this memory very fondly
to remind myself from time to time
about the wonderful times spent with them(:

well, after the fun playing session,
hc had to leave so left me,jh,alv, py and wk
well, we did random stuff for awhile
before we all gathered in the bedroom
and lazed around and ohh i rmb me and jh were quite high haha(:
singing and stuff :D
well, because i'm a person who doesn't show my crazy side easily
i treasure times whereby i show it(: because im with people really close to me(:
after that, we watched the show Ip Man
it was good(: all the martial arts and stuff- i was really impressed
although at the end, i really felt like sleeping haha(:
but great show(:

afterthat, we just continued to laze around
and we ended up talking(:
at first, it was me, jh, alv n py
den later on, it became me , jh and alv
and den me and jh(:
the whole talking process was really nice(:
heart to heart talks
and i let them in on another of one of my more hidden secrets
which i was really glad to get it off my chest
especially with them(: because i know that
they accept me fully for who i am
and thus, letting them know about a different side of me
would be somewhat significant too in the new year(:
and i felt so much better
and OH i decided i want a husband who has the same character and personality as jinghuan haha:D
any recommendations? hha(:

anyway, after all the talking, we ate instant mee
and fell asleep aha(:
its my first time actually sleeping in someone's house in a group(;
i remember when i woke up
and saw all the rest sleeping in the room
it kind of felt very heartwarming(:
like we were a real family:D
haha(: that shows how close i feel to them(:

well, when we woke up,
we played asshole daidee(:
damn funny experience
which woke everyone up(:
i was at the top
den fell to the bottom only to be badly niao-ed by stupid alv
and den rose to the top again:)haha(:
OH YEAH speaking about niao-ing alv,
i have decided that alv will forever be the top on my
people to niao list haha:)
seriously, i'm guilty of niaoing him so many times already
but i don't get sick and tired of it at all
muahaha:) i know its kind of sadist
but hehe i can't help it(: and i'll look forward to more niaoing sessions(:

anw we had lunch whereby we crapped alot again
and i was super amused abt the ns and shit stuff MUAHAHAHA(:
i swear that was the most insanely funny conversation i was in ( omg i sound like keith ._.)
after that we headed to tiong bahru plaza macs
just to chill out
the funny photo taking sessions and stuff(:
although we were all tired but yea, it was still fun(:
but in the end, we all had to go home
weirdly, i suddenly felt this pang of nolstagia when we all went home
but luckily there was jh to make me feel better(:
haha(:

im so lucky :) and i must treasure it more(:
especially in this new year(:

well, the night was an enlightening one(:
whereby i finally became enlightened about my decision about being a social worker(:
thanks to my listener robot(:
well, simply to sum it up,
it's not about whether i can or cannot
it's whether i want or don't want
and i realise all this time
i've been confused because people seemed to be indicating that i cannot
but ultimately the decision lies with me
and it's okay to make mistakes
so yea, at the end of the day
even though things might be really tough for me
especially in the beginning
i know that im not alone(:
and that will be my motivation for carrying on
so yup,

I WANT TO BE A SOCIAL WORKER(:
and i will not fear the obstacles that come
but i will prepare myself for them(:

:) a good start to my 2010(:

wanted to blog a more reflective post about 2009
but i guess i shan't blog it today
since i blogged such a long post already
and later it's time with 6C12:)
HAHA(:

and oh i found my favourite expression(:
-- TSK TSK--
haha LOL(:

smile(:
